HAMBLEN COUNTY, Tenn. — A multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 81 South in Hamblen County resulted in at least one injury on Tuesday. The White Pine Fire Department responded to the scene near Exit 4 around 12:39 p.m.

The collision involved a car hauler, a box truck, and several other vehicles. The exact number of vehicles and the cause of the accident are still under investigation.

First responders arrived to find at least one person injured. The extent of the injuries is currently unknown. Emergency medical services transported the injured person(s) to a local hospital. 

Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) crews arrived on the scene to clear the wreckage. During the cleanup, the highway was partially or fully blocked, causing commuter delays. The scene was reportedly cleared around 4:30 p.m.
