The donated vest, valued at $1,800.00, is custom-fitted to K9 Koa and will be embroidered with the message, “This gift of protection is provided by Vested Interest in K9s.” The U.S.-made, NIJ-certified vest weighs between 4 and 5 pounds and comes with a five-year warranty. Delivery of the vest is expected within the next ten weeks.

The program is open to U.S. dogs that are at least 20 months old, actively employed, and certified with law enforcement or related agencies. K9s with expired vests are also eligible to participate.
